Chelsea’s 606 Club Presents Jazz on the Lawn at Fulham Palace : RB Funkestra with Helena-May

Now in its ninth year, Jazz on the Lawn attracts over a thousand visitors annually, who come to enjoy the weekend’s accessible mix of straight-ahead jazz, standards, groove, soul & Latin. This successful precedent continues in 2017 as RB Funkestra, a spectacular 8-piece group led by Stefan Redtenbacher, (AKA the “Governor of Bass” BBC Radio 2) performs on Friday July the 28th. The Funkestra’s name pretty accurately describes the high-energy feel of the music as this band, with its powerful vocals, fiery two-horn frontline and slinky guitar, play funky grooves with an authority and style that is hard to beat. Featuring the wonderful singer Helena-May (Afro Cluster, Kokomo) the music wonderfully showcases the raw energy and funk-driven bass riffs with which the band are now synonymous. It’s a guaranteed great night out!
